A CCCM™ certificate holder exhibits knowledge as a contract manager as it relates to the training & knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
Why is the UCC important?
The UCC governs domestic and international commercial transactions. It evolved from common law in the 1600s when the practices for commercial transaction laws began to codify. In the 1800s, these
codified practices were used to settle landmark commercial law cases. The UCC was originally published in 1952 and has undergone several revisions. Today, the UCC’s global influence and implementation are widespread—spanning domestically
from Native American tribes to major American corporations, and internationally from the United Nations as an organization to its individual country members.
Who should pursue the CCCM™?
- Commercial contract managers who are interested in any form of domestic and international commercial transactions,
- Government contract managers (Federal, State, and Local) who are interested in the foundation of government contract laws and regulations, and
- All contract managers who are interested in the source of inspiration for common law and landmark commercial law cases.
Obtaining and maintaining the CCCM™ is a significant milestone in your professional development. The purpose of this handbook is to provide you with important information about the policies and procedures on how you can:
- Apply for the CCCM™ certification,
- Obtain the CCCM™ certification, and
- Maintain the CCCM™ certification.
NCMA requires that all CCCM™ certification applicants read this entire handbook.

Application Process & Fees
If you’re interested in the CCCM™ certification program, complete and submit your online application along with:
- Your college/university transcripts or written waiver request.
- Your work experience (CV, resume, or employer records).
- Proof of at least 80 CPE/CLP hours.
- Your application fee ($150 for NCMA members and $350 for nonmembers).
Once you have completed and submitted your application, the certification department will have everything formally reviewed within 15 business days. If approved, you will have one year and three attempts to pass your exam.
How to Access Your Application:
- Log into your profile at the top of any page on the NCMA website and select Certification from the left hand menu
- From there, do one of two things:
- Click on new application by selecting the blue button of the certification you are applying for
- If it is an existing certification, click on the certification within the menu
- From there, follow the tabs and instructions along the top.
Exam Process & Fees
Your test will be scheduled through NCMA’s testing provider, Kryterion. You will be able to select the date, time, and testing location based off of your zip code. The exam fee is $125 in the U.S. & Canada and $150 internationally.
Reschedule requests made within 72 hours of an exam will result in a $100 (domestic) and $130 (international) fee.
