Understand the concepts of organizational ethics, professional ethics, and character ethics; the difference between rules and values; how to identify an ethical issue; how to think through a course of action when confronted by an ethical problem; and what resources are available to help. By studying examples from the real world, both in the public and private sectors, students will learn about ethical and unethical behavior, the warning signs of an unethical environment, what an ethical culture entails, and how it can be fostered in a business environment. Finally, students will test their new knowledge by being confronted by various ethics-based scenarios and choosing the best course of action.
