• Auditors: Staffing Shortages Stymie Stimulus — September 8, 2010
  Efforts to pump $862 billion in stimulus into the economy and create private jobs are being slowed by a shortage of federal jobs: the 25,000 overseers of grants and contracts to guard against waste and fraud, government auditors say.

• FAPIIS Goes Public: Contractor Performance and Integrity Information Database Will Be Made Publicly Available — September 2, 2010
  When the President signed the 2010 Supplemental Appropriations Act on July 29, 2010, a provision of that law directed the General Services Administration (“GSA”) to make nearly all of the information in the recently-created Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (“FAPIIS”) database available to the public. Past performance reports are the only information exempted from this new public disclosure requirement.



• 2010 NASPO Annual Conference Highlights Efficiency, Cooperative Purchasing and Emergency Response — September 1, 2010
  The National Association of State Procurement Officials celebrated its 63rd year at its Annual Conference from August 23-26, 2010 in Washington, D.C.
